Meet Our Team
Keri McDonald, President and Founder Keri began her career as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), where she had the career-impacting experience of living below the poverty line. Afterward, she joined CPS as a caseworker and then landed at Texas CASA, where she focused on volunteer recruitment and retention.
Then she explored K-12 education policy at the University of Texas and Region 18 ESC, where she co-wrote and was project manager for multi-million grants from the U.S. Department of Education focused on improving the educator pipeline in low-socioeconomic communities.
In 2014, Keri left full-time work to spend more time with her two young kids as the part-time Grants Manager of Austin Sunshine Camps. There she exceeded fundraising goals for three years running and was also the 2015 winner of the Best Grant Proposal from the Grants Professionals Association (GPA).
Keri launched Keri McDonald Consulting in 2016 and has been honored to serve the missions of many unique organizations, including health and human services, workforce development, schools, and the arts. She has a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin. Keri is a Grant Professional Certified (GPC), the only accredited certification for the grants profession.
Keri is a GPA Board Member serving on the Programs Committee for the Austin-Central Texas Chapter and as their GPC Ambassador. Keri and her family live in Round Rock, Texas, and love watching movies and traveling to new places.
Runi Limary, Operations Manager Runi brings over 24 years of experience in education and the nonprofit sector with a strong background in operations, volunteer management, facilitation, and program development. Runi has a passion for giving back to the community, and volunteers with several organizations that are near and dear to her. She graduated from the University of New Mexico and still travels back to New Mexico to visit friends and family. Runi likes to travel, hike and walk in nature, and spend time with her loved ones.
Kathryn T. Jones, Grant Associate Kathryn T Jones brings over thirty years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including work for a botanical garden, an art museum archives, and a hospice and palliative care provider. She has been with Keri McDonald Consulting since 2022. Kathryn holds advanced degrees in philosophy, library science, and creative writing. She has a thirst for lifelong learning and a heart for rescue dogs.
Ellen Lee, Editor Ellen Lee has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including prospect research, writing proposals, and grant management. She provides professional advice to Austin/Central Texas nonprofits specializing in historic preservation, social services, and animal welfare. Ellen worked with the Texas Grants Resource Center at The University of Texas at Austin, where she gained experience in all stages of nonprofit development. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University. Ellen and her family live in Austin. She currently serves on the board of the Austin-Central Texas Chapter of Grant Professionals Association.
Molly Totman, Grant Associate Molly has spent more than two decades in the nonprofit sector, with over 15 years engaging in grant-writing and other fund development. Her grant-writing has centered on criminal and youth justice policy advocacy, direct services in education and legal spaces, and arts programming. Molly joined the KMC team in October 2024, and is proud to elevate the mission of organizations working with and for under-served communities. Molly holds a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and currently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Nadia Vogel, Grant Associate Nadia is an early career grant writer interested in public sector work around education, workforce development, and LGBT issues. She provides grant application support, including research and concept development, narrative writing and review, and application compilation and submission. Previously, Nadia worked in fundraising for several nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews. Outside of work, Nadia enjoys playing guitar, reading science fiction, and skiing.
